How to Raise Zombies in Graveyard Keeper 2
Raising zombies in Graveyard Keeper 2: unlock Reanimation, build the Resurrection Table in the morgue's lower room, fit a collar with Reanimation Liquid, and wait for lightning day.
The free pair first
Your first two zombies do not need resurrection at all — they come from the story. Push the Dream Dust quest line: open the locked hatch in your home, go down into the dungeon, meet the Plague Doctor and clear the rubble in front of him to unlock the abandoned tower above your base. The tower door takes your Inquisitor medallion plus the combination you are carrying. Inside, study water and blood at the study table (neither costs faith), brew Dream Dust at the flask table, and hand it over. The doctor verifies it and gives you the two zombies from his own room.
Unlocking resurrection
For zombie three and beyond:
- Unlock Reanimation in the Anatomy & Alchemy branch of the tech tree.
- Open the sealed door on the left side of the morgue — that lower room is the resurrection chamber.
- Build Resurrection Table I inside it.
Preparing a body
The preparation routine at the table:
- Put a body on the table.
- Attach a collar.
- Make sure Reanimation Liquid is loaded.
- Press prepare.
A prepared body stays ready — the last step is not yours to trigger on demand.
The day gate: wait for lightning
Only the Snake day brings lightning, and that is the only day the resurrect option appears. The same day is called the "green day" elsewhere — two names, one stormy day. So resurrection is scheduled, not instant: prepare the body, then wait for the day. Miss it and you wait another cycle, so keep a body prepared in advance rather than starting prep when the storm arrives. The table also recharges between uses, so plan on roughly one new zombie per week and spend each resurrection on a high-quality body.
Choosing the body
Because resurrection slots are scarce, check the corpse's red skull count first — red skulls are the zombie's perk slots, and natural bodies top out around four red. You can push a body to five red by swapping in red-skull parts at the autopsy table before resurrection; the full method is in the zombie quality guide.
Once raised, the zombie needs a tool and a job to be useful — see the zombie workers guide for assignment, mastery and the supplier-hauler-crafter loop.
